Timothy Greenfield-Sanders 

Famed photographer and filmmaker, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has achieved critical acclaim for his intimate portraits of world leaders and major culture figures. From Presidents to porn stars, artists to Oscar winners, Greenfield-Sanders’ work defines a certain cultural photographic canon of our time.His portraits are in numerous museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum, The Whitney Museum and National Portrait Gallery. In 2016-17, he exhibited all 151 portraits from The List series at the Annenberg Center for Photography in Los Angeles. Greenfield-Sanders has produced and directed twelve feature documentaries to date. He won a Grammy Award for his 1998 film Lou Reed: Rock and Roll Heart and a NAACP Spirit Award in 2009 for The Black List: Volume 1. His most recent film, The Trans List, is currently on HBO. He is currently at work on American Masters: Toni Morrison for fall 2018. Timothy Greenfield-Sanders was born in Miami Beach, Florida, 1952. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in Art History and a Master Degree in film from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. He lives and works in New York City.
