The shadow as truth witness
Alexis Soul-Gray, Screen Memory – Wetterling Gallery, Stockholm, 11 November – 17 December 2022

For the first time, Alexis Soul-Gray (b. 1980) is exhibiting outside the UK, with around thirty works at Wetterling Gallery. The exhibition title Screen Memory is borrowed from Freud, who coined this concept to define a memory that represents a repressed experience, which is too traumatic to remember directly. The psychoanalytic term is recalled throughout the exhibition, which deals with the emotional life of childhood.
