The staged portrait has a long tradition in the world of art and theatre. At the same time with the new mobile technology the staged self-portrait has gained ground as the most widely used form of portrait photograph. Self-staged lets tradition meet trend and focuses on the photographic – staged – self-portrait. Work by 33 of Denmark’s very best photographers appear in the magical and history-filled space of The Court Theatre in response to the theme of the Copenhagen Photo Festivaln 2019: Framing Identity, exhibitions where the individual person is in focus (individual, existence and identity).
