As you might be aware of, we are closing the gallery for a couple of weeks in the middle of summer so that we can take some well needed time off and regain inspiration. However, we still want to spend our free time enjoying art. Therefore, we have compiled a list with activities, exhibitions, and art happenings that our Scandinavian artists are featured in during the upcoming months.
Outside of Stockholm, in Saltsjö-Duvnäs you will find the studio of Kajsa and Olle Nyman, siblings and artists. Their studio space has been turned into a museum and for the upcoming summer they are re-launching their exhibition program with three different exhibitions. For the middle period, from July 10 – August 15, they will host the group show Glass Tableware in Still Life, featuring our artist Anna Camner. Read more here.
Liva Isakson Lundin’s artworks can be found in several places in Sweden this upcoming season. First, we recommend a visit to Moderna Museet where her sculpture Past Bearing was installed earlier this year as a part of their permanent collection, which you can read more about here.She recently inaugurated the sculpture Omväg, a large scale installation at Stora Torg in Eslöv, a city located in Skåne. More information here. Last, but not least, we can’t recommend a visit to Pilane Heritage Museum on Tjörn enough. It’s a wonderful sculpture park within the dramatic landscape of the west coast in Sweden. Isakson Lundin is participating this year with her sculpture Veins. Read more here.
Dina Isæus-Berlin, together with Inez Jönsson, is a part of the ongoing duo exhibition Handen & Håret at Fullersta Gård. The art hall, located outside of Stockholm in Huddinge, are open until July 25 and then opening again from August 25 – September 26, so there is plenty of time to enjoy this exhibition which you can learn more about here.
At Kivik Art Center, they have an ambition to develop a creative place where art and be enjoyed in many ways. Each year they develop their program by adding a new artwork to their collection and this year the turn has come to Peter Johansson! The sculpture, Familjeterapi, will be on display until August 29 and you can learn more about the sculpture here.
Astrid Kruse Jensen have a busy summer ahead. She is featured in the exhibition Fortiden Foran Mig at Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, together with Marie Sjøvold. That exhibition can be enjoyed until August 15. Information can be found here. For a longer period of time, until August 29, Kruse Jensens artworks is a part of the ongoing group exhibition As Times Goes By at Alma Löv Museum in Värmland. It is truly a magical place that you can learn more about here.
This summer a group exhibition with the title Ecco Homo will open at Vargåkra Gård at Österlen, south of Sweden. This year will include our artist Love Lundell and the exhibition can be seen until August 15 and you can read more here.
As mentioned earlier, Kajsa and Olle Nymans studio are operating as a museum and for the last exhibition period this summer, Fredrik Nielsen will be featured in a duo exhibition with the famous artist Siri Derkert ((1888 – 1973). Open between August 21 – September 26 and information can be found here.
Anna Pajak was awarded Queen Sonias Print Award earlier this year for her works within the graphic field. In collaboration with the award, Kunstverket Galleri in Oslo are showing the solo exhibition Coexistence, consisting of newly made graphic artworks. Open until June 26. Read about it here.
