In this exhibition Åsa Cederqvist explores the action of play through gestures and cavities. The play is the antidote or counterpart to severity; it is full of curiosity, movement, attendance and exploration. When entering the exhibition, we are encountered by a spatial installation hanging from the ceiling, on the walls and on the floor, different materials like fabric, ropes, wood and found objects, as well as various media such as sculpture, photography and drawings are displayed. Åsa Cederqvist utilizes organic, sensual and sexual forms, but also an abstract expression in her works. Something as common and mundane as a lump of dough can be turned into a face or an abstract pattern and suddenly resemble the surface of the moon. In contemplation Åsa Cederqvist's works, we are allowed to paus and reflect and to let us be absorbed by time and space.
